EU Bans Animal Testing for Cosmetics!

As of March 11th 2009, the EU has banned cruel experimentation on animals for the production of cosmetics.  Not only will testing on animals for cosmetics be illegal, products that were tested on animals in countries outside of the EU will not be legal to sell within the union.

This is truly a massive victory for animal rights.  Millions of animals in Europe will be spared the horrible atrocities of unnecessary experimentation.  Because the EU will not sell imported products that were tested on animals, the pressure is on for manufacturers in the United States to adopt a cruelty free business model.
