Activist May Become Mayor.

I wish I lived in New York.  The Green Party in New York City has nominated activist Rev. Billy of the Church of Stop Shopping for mayor.  Rev. Billy is the leader of a successful band of artists/activists in New York City that encourage sustainable living, reduced consumption, and protest the privatization of public space.

Billy’s most famous protests involved going into Victoria’s Secret and Starbucks and exorcising the demons out of the cash register.

Billy needs 7,500 signatures to get on the ballot and $250,000 to receive matching funds.  He needs all the financial support he can get as he runs against multi-billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg.  Check out Rev. Billy’s website to see how you can help and to watch some cool videos.
