McDonald’s Hates All Animals (Including Humans).
McDonald’s built the reputation as one most experienced animal abusers of all-time and now with the reemergence of an organized opposition to the cruelty, the limelight has revealed more than just non-human abuse. McDonald’s is denying workers compensation to hero employee Nigel Haskett who was shot while protecting McDonald’s customers from a violent patron.
In the summer of 2008, Nigel Haskett saw a women being beaten up by a man in the McDonald’s restaurant where he worked in Little Rock, Arkansas. Haskett threw the man out of the restaurant and stood guard at the door to ensure that he would not return. The man went to his car and got a gun. He came back to confront Haskett and shot him three times in the abdomen. The man was later arrested and Haskett survived with the help of multiple surgeries which cost him $300,000. A multi-billion dollar corporation, McDonald’s has refused to help with ANY of Haskett’s medical bills or provide financial assistance, which Haskett is entitled to under workers compensation.
McDonald’s claims that being a hero was not in Haskett’s job description and therefore McDonald’s cannot be held liable. However, the law says that Haskett’s actions came as a “good samaritan” so McDonald’s is therefore required to pay the compensation. McDonald’s has chosen to pinch its pennies and fight the hero in court presumably in an effort to prove that they are the most callous and non-compassionate corporation in the universe.

It’s no surprise to me that McDonald’s believes that their employees aren’t worth the expense. McDonald’s has refused to adopt more humane methods of animal slaughter, opting to go with more brutal methods. The suffering of animals is directly linked to that of humans and this case is the perfect example. If McDonald’s cared about the value and quality of life for ANY living thing, they would compensate Nigel Haskett for his heroism and they would end their unnecessary and inhumane methods of animal torture. McCruely, I’m Hatin’ It.
