L.A. Zoo: The Price is Wrong.

The Los Angeles Zoo has rejected Bob Barker’s offer of $1.5 million dollars to relocate Billy the elephant to a sanctuary. Barker and other animal rights activists are pleading with the zoo to give Billy more space and freedom by relocating him.

Campaigns have also mounted in defense of keeping Billy at the zoo. These groups claim that “Billy is OUR elephant” and that relocation would make it harder for them to visit. Former Guns and Roses guitarist Slash has joined the few protesters that are fighting in maintain Billy’s imprisonment.

The zoo has their priorities (i.e. make money) so why would they want Billy to be free. They don’t care about animals, just t-shirt sales. They have said that Billy “belongs” to them.
