Eating Endangered Species on Facebook
Two very stupid people have been arrested for eating endangered species, including iguana and “undersized” conch, and posting pictures of the cruelty on Facebook.
Vanessa Starr Palm, 23, of Illinois and Alexander Daniel Rust, 24, of Indiana, were arrested last Monday when, according to police, Facebook pictures showed “the pair catching an iguana, parts of an iguana on a grill, two men eating the iguana pieces, and a man and a woman cleaning what appears to be undersized conch.”
Not only were the two too dense to feel compassion, they wanted to show the world pictures (evidence) of them committing American federal law. Shortly after the pictures surfaced, they were tracked down by Bahamain authorities and arrested on the Fisheries Regulations and the Wild Animal Protection Act.
The iguanas are also protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
