Coca-Cola Beats and Kills 200 Pigeons.

Coca-cola is under fire after they hired workers to trap and beat over 200 pigeons to death at one of their bottling factories.
The soda giant hired five “hunters” to use nets to trap pigeons and beat them to death with sticks at a factory in New Delhi. Coke claims the death toll was “only two” yet a police investigation into the incident has already led to five arrests. All the hunters have been detained for serious violations of India’s Wildlife Protection Act. Hard to believe the police would go to such great lengths to arrest five people over only two birds.
Coke claims the pigeons were killed to maintain their “high standards of hygiene.” Such gruesome tactics as netting and clubbing birds to death hardly seem like the proper way to maintain hygiene or rid the factory of a “pigeon problem.” Even pigeon control experts say that killing large flocks of birds is ineffective and actually leads to population increases over time.
Coke already has a long history of being against human and animal rights. Violently trapping and beating 200 birds to death doesn’t help bolster their “teach the world to sing-peace-love-and-coke” image. Hopefully it helps people realize it’s not called call it “Killer Cola” for nothing.
