Henry Rollins and the Frog Smoothie.

Hardcore music pioneer and acclaimed poet Henry Rollins has signed on to host a new National Geographic show featuring people doing weird things with animals including liquefying them into smoothies.
The new show, called Animal Underworld, will appear on the Nat Geo channel. Rollins will travel around exploring how animals play a part in people’s lives. He will interview people who make frog smoothies and visit the Roadkill Cafe to dine on “swirl of squirrel” and the “splatter platter.” Even though the entire hook of the show is people eating disgusting foods made from animals, its creators insist the show has a much deeper message.
Nat Geo VP Geoff Daniels swears the show will not be like the two dozen other shows on TV that are about eating gross animal bits. Daniels says Animal Underworld will be “an investigation into our relationship with animals.” Sounds like most of the people they find for the show have a pretty messed up relationship with animals.
Come on people, they are already bringing back Fear Factor and we still have Paula Deen, do we really need more eyeball pizzas and frog smoothies? Because Henry Rollins is attached to this, I have slightly more faith that there will be an interesting perspective that comes out of Animal Underworld but I’m not going to hold my breath.
