16000-Pounds of Deli Meat Recalled.

Rose & Shore Meat Co. of California is recalling 16,000-pounds of deli meat.

Consumer complaints of illness prompted the company to test samples of the meat and discovered traces of deadly Listeria. The contaminated meats have already been distributed to Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Nevada.

Cold meats, like deli slices, are particularly dangerous carriers of food-borne illness and are responsible for 85% of all cases of Listeria. This has caused the CDC and the American Meat Institute to warn people who are over 50-years old to heat all meats throughly before eating.

Wow. Deli slices are surprisingly dangerous.
