Navy Training Blows Up Dolphins.

The US navy is defending a training exercise that killed a pod of dolphins with an underwater explosive device off the coast of San Diego.
A Navy spokesperson told press that an underwater explosive test resulted in the accidental deaths of at least four dolphins and possibly more. Navy personnel had cleared the area of sea mammals before initiating a 15 minute countdown. At the ten minute mark, a pod of dolphins swam into the blast zone and the Navy commander in charge determined that it would be safer for Navy personnel to detonate the device rather than initiate deactivation.
The bodies of three dolphins were recovered at the site while a forth washed up on a nearby beach. At least four dolphins are dead while the death toll for all other nearby sea life is unknown.
The military either needs to figure out how they can do pointless tests without hurting anyone or they need to stop doing the pointless tests altogether.
