Dogfighting Video Game Draws Heat.

A new video game app from Andriod called “Dog Wars” is stirring up anti-dogfighting advocates and the the LAPD.

The game allows players to train pitbulls for dogfights which earn the player cash and ‘street cred.’ Players are encouraged to pump their dogs full of steroids and fight to the death with other competitors’ dogs. Occasionally, viritual police will raid the match and payers are encourged to use guns to kill the officers as they attempt to save the dogs.

The LAPD has spoken out against the game saying:

“It’s sickening, absolutely sickening. They should take it down immediately. These animals are defenseless. It’s absolutely the wrong message to send to our children.”

I would add that it’s the wrong message to send to ANYONE let alone children.

Kage Games, the makers of Dog Wars, responded to the outburst of criticism with a lengthy response, the sum of which was “it’s just a video game.”

You know, Michael Vick just did get the cover of the Madden football game, maybe he could be on the cover of ‘Dog Wars 2’ as well.
