Radioactive Wild Boar Meat For Sale.

Researchers in Austria caused a stir this week after purchasing wild boar meat direct from the supermarket only to discover that it contained illegal levels of radioactive cesium.
The meat became radioactive after the boars ingested wild truffles in the forests of Austria that had been hit 25-years ago with radioactive fallout from Chernobyl. After 25 years, the cesium is only half as dangerous as it was when it first fell but nonetheless, is still a concern.
In Asutria, where wild boars are killed and immediatly tested for radioactivity, it’s curious how the tainted meat could have got past government officals. The National Health and Food Safety (AGES) organization signed off on the meat as “safe to eat” but researchers claim that AGES was involved with “actively misinforming” the general public about the dangers of radioactive meat.
Essentially…they lied.
Makes me wonder about all the government/industry reports on how US milk is contaminated with radioactivity but “safe to drink.”
Makes me feel like Fox Mulder sometimes, “trust no one.”
