Chicken Truck Flips, 100s Dead.

Hundreds of chickens were killed Tuesday when a truck flipped while carrying 5,000 chickens bound for the Foster Farms slaughterhouse in Washington State.

Hundreds of chickens were crushed and killed under the weight of the flipped semi while many more were severely injured.  Multiple news sources are reporting that the injured birds were taken to the slaughterhouse “to be euthanized.” 

I find this very hard to believe, that injured chickens would be euthanized at the slaughterhouse rather than being turned into processed meat.  This would be throwing money down the drain for Foster Farms.  I can’t imagine them caring about the physical suffering of injured birds who were about to be scalded alive and have their throats cut.  I also question whether the birds who were killed in the crash were turned into McNuggets also.

I guess the roadkill cafe could actually be a real thing…
