Smithfield Reveals Mystery of Pork.

Pork mega producer, Smithfield Foods, has responded to years of damaging investigatory footage taken at their facilities by posting seven new videos on their fancy YouTube account. Smithfield hopes the videos will “take the mystery of of pork production.” So gather the kids around the ol’ internets, maybe we’ll finally learn what’s in a hot dog!
The YouTube videos produced by Smithfield show friendly Ma and Pa farmers cradling clean little piglets in their arms and scratching sows lovingly on the head. They show brightly lit facilities where pigs have room to move around accompanied with interviews of farmers acting like the allegations against the animal industry couldn’t be any more wild.
Smithfield launched the defensive campaign after the Humane Society of the United States released footage form one of its facilities. The investigation revealed a typical day at Smithfield where thousands of pregnant pigs are crammed into metal crates and lame animals are shot in the forehead and thrown in dumpsters while they’re still alive.
Smithfield’s propaganda films are a pathetic attempt to combat decades of undercover footage that reveal the TRUE face of the animal industry. That said, they’re still good for an angry laugh.
