Why I Stopped Hating Glee.

Glee is everywhere.  It’s one of the top shows on TV, the cast is all over every magazine, and they have 6 different songs on Billboard’s Top 100.  I used to hate on Glee but every few months I come across one more reason to support the show.  For example:

Lea Michele.  One of the biggest stars of the show is full-on vegan and campaigns against fur as well as the abuse of carriage horses in New York City.

Jane Lynch.  Not only is this lady funny as hell, she is a huge advocate for spay/neuter and shelter adoption. 

Dianna Agron.  The Glee ‘mean girl’ is actually a super sweet vegetarian.

Ryan Murphy (co-creator and writer).  The acclaimed writer is very protective of his material but has allowed the cast to change the lines only when they find the line negative toward animals/animal rights.

I may not become a “Gleek” any time soon but I definitely have a newfound respect for the cast because of their strong support for animal rights.  Any superstar that uses their fame to help end the suffering of animals is cool in my book.
