Lady Antebellum To Perform for KFC.

Need another reason to hate Lady Antebellum?  Don’t know who Lady Antebellum are? This may be a bad introduction.

Country music superstars, and recent Grammy winners, Lady Antebellum are set to perform for Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) franchise meeting in San Diego California this March.

Oh wow.  Of all the fast food chains to throw a concert for KFC has got to be the worst (next to McDonald’s of course).  Vegan/animal rights supporter and music legend Chrissie Hynde has written a letter to the group urging them to use the event to shed light on the company’s horrific record on animal welfare and ask executives to make minor changes.  In the letter, Hynde writes:

[at KFC] Birds’ throats are cut while they are still conscious, and they are often scalded to death in defeathering tanks.  Several of KFC’s own animal welfare advisors have resigned in frustration as KFC refuses to make basic improvements for chickens that would cost only a few cents more per meal.  Would you consider asking KFC executives to make a few changes to end the worst abuses of chickens?

No word from Lady Antebellum yet.  If they go through with this embarrassing performance for the fried chicken people, maybe they’ll at least wear a Kentucky Fried Cruelty shirt.
