The 2011 seal slaughter season has begun and an estimated 60,000 seals are set to be beaten to death on the Canadian ice. It’s time to take action to help stop the slaughter.

Economic and political support for the slaughter is at an all-time low. Countries around the world are banning seal products and more people than ever are speaking out in opposition to the wasteful massacre. The Canadian government is even trying to pawn off the discarded seal meat in China and are being met by Chinese and international resistance.  

Now is the perfect time to act.  Organize a tabling or demonstration, write a letter, make a phone call, blog (or reblog), or tell a friend/family member.  By bringing attention to this slaughter, we can put an end to it.

The slaughter has never been so unpopular.  We have the power to end it.  Please speak up today.  The seals need us more than ever.
