It’s Ok To Be A Cat Guy.

In an effort to change stereotypes and get some cats out the shelters and into good homes, Much Love Animal Rescue has developed the “It’s Ok to be a Cat Guy” campaign starring some typical tough guys (the boxer, the biker, the bartender, etc.) talking about their furry friends.
Much Love’s Facebook talks about the effort saying:
For too long there’s been a stereotype about cat guys. Unmanly. More soft then rugged. More feminine then masculine. And there have been hundreds of movies made about the relationship between a man and his dog. The trusty companion, the sidekick, man’s best friend…
It’s time to show the world “It’s Ok to be a Cat Guy.”
Luckily the campaign seems to be working. The group claims that their promotion of Cat Guy Week got 119 cats adopted last week alone. Keep up the good work!
This is definitely a new angle to get people to adopt cat and we need it. Statistics show that 6-8 million animals enter American shelters every year and many of them are cats.
