Morrissey and Marr Against Bloodsports.

Legendary musicians and founders of The Smiths, Morrissey and Johnny Marr, have joined forces to speak out in favor of animal protection.  The notoriously hardcore vegans joined with Ricky Gervais to support the League Against Cruel Sports campaign to end fox hunting and other bloodsports.

The two have always been known for their sharp tongues and painfully honest take on society and their statements about bloodsport were no different.  Morrissey said recently that:

“People who hunt are under delusions of possession and property and divine right, and their debasement of human standards is evident at in their outrage at even being questioned about their activities.”

Marr added:

“I feel that those who think it’s ok to abuse animals for so called sport are ignorant.”

Fox hunting in the UK is on the brink of extinction as people begin to stand-up to ridiculous ceremony of the former elite. All across southern Europe, bloodsports like bullfighting are being banned and outlawed left and right.  

We are rejecting the old ways and choosing not to view the suffering of animals with delight and we are becoming better people because of it.
