Urban Outfitters Sells Real Fur Labeled Faux.

Sigh.
This is one of my favorite clothing stores and when they made the Humane Society’s list of Fur-Free Retailers in 2009 I was ecstatic. Turns out an item called the “S Loves C by Spring and Clifton Faux Fur Cardigan” is actually lined with real rabbit fur. Sadly, their website is still stating the item is faux even though the experts have objected.
Experts including Joshua Katcher, head of the anti-fur PINNACLE campaign, reported that after analyzing the product and discovering rabbit skin still attached they are “110% positive that the fur is real.”
Urban Outfitters is in hot water because, come March, the Truth in Labeling Act will be in effect and any mislabeled fur will get them slammed with serious fines and lawsuits. They might want to find a better way of screening their products.
Maybe we can help…
Sign the petition to Urban Outfitters telling them they need to take steps so that this never happens again.
