Madonna Too Vegan for Piers Morgan and CNN.

When you think of witty put-downs and jabs from dashing Brits you probably think of Morrissey or Ricky Gervais but talk show host Piers Morgan is struggling to be in their league.  Discussing who he intended to bring on as guests for his new CNN show, Piers said he banned Madonna from the show for being “too vegan.”  I’m not sure if he was trying to be funny or if he really believes you can be too vegan.

Madonna is a self admitted vegetarian but has never openly discussed being a vegan. She is also a major fur wearer, taking home PETA’s Worst Dressed Award in 2009 which makes me seriously doubt if she is even vegan at all.

Since when is being vegan considered a put-down and a reason to ban someone from a talk show?  Piers is already getting awful reviews for his show and now he is going to ban vegans?  There goes hundreds of possible guests including vegans Bill Clinton, Olivia Wilde, and Natalie Portman.  

Perhaps he meant that being vegan means being behind the times.  For a talk show host, he’s not very up on the latest headlines like the one from a recent Washington Post that says veganism is on the rise.  The numbers show that being vegan today means you’re ahead of tomorrow’s trend.

Piers should really bring Madonna on his show.  Maybe he can get a definitive answer on whether or not she even is vegan.

Madonna did have the last word though releasing a single statement about the feud that said: “Madonna doesn’t know who Piers Morgan is.”
